CREATE A STENCILLED FLOOR

Stencil, sponge, repeat – transform a floor in a weekend.

YOU NEED

  • Plascon Super Acrylic Polvin in White (EPL 30)
  • Plascon Super Acrylic Polvin in Ocean Melody (B6-D1-2)
  • Plascon Paint Effects Waterbased Glazecoat Matt (optional)
  • Paint roller
  • 38mm paint brush
  • Acetate sheet
  • Permanent marker
  • Craft knife
  • Tape measure
  • Chalk
  • Ruler
  • Masking tape
  • Sponge

TIME: 20 minutes/m2

STEP 1: Download this motif, print it out and enlarge it to the desired scale. Trace the motif onto acetate with permanent marker and use the craft knife to cut out the stencil.

STEP 2: Apply two base coats of Plascon Super Acrylic Polvin in White. Use the chalk, measuring tape and ruler to draw a grid on the floor to ensure your stencilling is straight.

STEP 3: Secure the stencil in place with masking tape. Use a brush to transfer paint onto the sponge. Wet- and dry-sponge the paint so it is applied unevenly to add interest and texture.

STEP 4: Reposition the stencil and continue. As an option to seal, use Plascon Paint Effects Waterbased Glazecoat Matt.
